4tified Blog

Yes as the title of this entry states, 4tified is indeed in search of a new tenor.  Chris Geiger (4tified tenor for the last 3 years) has decided after much thought and prayer, that he needs to pull back on his commitments and drop from the group.  Chris works full time in technology, is worship pastor at our church and just added a 4th little Geiger to the pack at home.  So, Chris astutely realized he needed to spend some more time with this family and not be on the road out of town with 4tified.  We wish Chris well and will miss him sorely.

So, we are in search of a new tenor and we believe God has the perfect match for the group out there just waiting for the opportunity.  4tified has already had 4 voice changes over the last 10 years and we believe God has another that will take us in directions only He knows.

Below is an ad we wrote up to post, so please pass the word to friends, church staff, choral groups, voice instructors, and whomever you can think of.  We would appreciate it!

“4tified” is a southern gospel quartet that was originally formed in 1999.  We book 2-3 events per month (usually grouped in one weekend, and never more than 1 Sunday AM in a month) with the majority of the events in the Northern Virginia and surrounding areas, with an occasional longer event trip. Our tenor has just recently announced that he needs to spend more time with his family, so we are looking to see who God has for us to help carry on this mission.  We are looking for someone who has a heart for Christian (preferably Southern Gospel) music and for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  4tified is an all-volunteer ministry composed of 4 male voices (Tenor, Lead, Baritone, Bass) with a live touring band of 4 musicians playing drums, keys, electric/acoustic/bass guitar and mandolin.  On larger gigs we add a pedal steel/banjo/fiddle player and a harmonica.

We had an awesome time performing at the Carver center.  The crowd was excellent and some of us got to see some old friends we had not seen in a very long time.  This will be our last concert of the season.  We hope everyone has a great winter and we’ll see you in the spring!

We recently got the chance to put on a concert for our home church.  The Lord provided a picture perfect day for the church fall festival and we were able to hold the concert out on the back lawn of the church.  It is always special to play in front of friends and the crowd was indeed very encouraging.

After a little vacation break for some of us, we held a Sunday evening concert at Harmony United Methodist in Hamilton, VA.  The people there were very warm and welcoming and it was an encouraging evening for us.

We had another packed weekend following up to our CD Release concert last weekend.  We were in Winchester at Bethel Lutheran on Saturday to help promote a fundraiser for the Youth of that church.   The people there were great and the weather was picture perfect for an outside concert.

On Sunday we led the worship service at Loudoun Valley Church of the Nazarene in Hillsboro, VA.  This is Kendall’s home church and it was great to see all of our old friends (George & Lola, Kristi, Bob Nutzman, etc…) again.  The service went well and we especially enjoyed the communion story by the pastor.   

Wow, what an evening we all had for the CD Release concert.  The fans were such an encouragement and it was a blast for all of us in 4tified.  We also need to thank the Franklin Parks Arts Center for accommodating all our needs and to congratulate them on a great facility.

The concert was a sell-out and there were people standing in the back.  Brian Boswell (Pedal Steel) and Allen Stoudt (Harp) joined us for the evening and they really added an extra punch to the music - thanks guys!

We are finalizing the layout for all the CD art work in the next few days and we should ship it off to the duplicator by Tuesday.  We need to have the CDs ready for the concert on May 30th.

We had a great trip to Christiansburg, VA this weekend.  Pastor Bailey was a superb host and we had a very warm reception from the congregration there.  Several of us had some very interesting conversations with the folks after the service and some even promised to come back to hear us in Winchester on June 6th.

Four of us got to fly down and back in Steve’s Piper, which made the long trip a breeze - thanks Steve!  We all stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Dublin and some of us slept great (though I heard there were some snoring choruses in other rooms - too bad  guys) 

All in all it was a very nice trip - though quite lengthy for the drivers.  Now, we are focused on finalizing the CD cover/insert, and getting it to duplication.  We are also putting together the program for the CD Release Concert at the end of May.  Hope everyone can come see us at the concert - get your tickets before they run out!
